our assignment was to scan nature and any other objects we have and make a composition in adobe photopshop by changing the layer qualities. i scanned leaves, twigs, pine cones, my scarf and scribbles i drew.

this week we had to first create a spoof of an advertisement. i used the layout of the absolut vodka ads but i changed absolut vodka to absolut blur. next we had to make a composite and change the meaning...hilary doesn't go to crazy parties.

this week we began using adobe photoshop. we started by editing old images using the cloning tool as well as the selection tool. to fix cracks in the picture i cloned the desired color found next to the crack, then i painted over the crack. in order to make it realistic i had to clone many times. i also fixed cracks by selecting a part of the picture, copy and pasted that same color to another part of the picture and it looks as good as new.

afterwards, we had to make a four layered landscape. i found a photo of greenwich village then had to add a vehicle, a person, an animal, and weather. once i found photos of these four things i cropped out the background so all that remained was the image i wanted. with that i placed all of the images on a separate layer and added shadows and highlights to make it look like it actually existed in my landscape picture. instead of cropping our rain or a thunderstorm (for the weather requirement) i created a box to fill the landscape and made a opaque-ish color of gray. this was to give the illusion of an overcast day.

finally we had to make a self portrait using only the paint tools in photoshop. once i did this i played with filters and backgrounds which gave it the strange effect my face has.

here we were to make a logo and images using only letters. i had a lot of trouble coming up with a logo but i wanted to make the background appear as if it was ascending and i think i was able to achieve that with the colors of my blocks BUT i'm going to have to re-do my logo.

the next assignment was to create images using letters. at first i was confused as to what we were supposed to do but after the first two images i had more fun with the assignment. i used no real technique, simply just rotating and copying text until i got images i liked.
